Chasing down the Dhaulagiri Massif, Dhaulagiri circuit trek is an exciting journey through the off beaten path of Nepal. It is a challenging trek which takes you through glaciers & snow filled passes to reach Dhaulagiri base camp.

Its remote so don't expect comfortable accommodation & luxury stays prepare for basic accommodation or camping. It's strongly recommended for those who are seeking extreme adventure & are in good shape.

Mt. Dhaulagiri is a delight to watch, with an elevation of 8167m it is the sixth highest mountain in the world.

The trek follows the Myagdi river & deepest George kali gandaki gorge  & takes you to the unspoiled corner of Nepal.

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

On your arrival, our airport representative will escort you to your Hotel by private car. In the evening we will have welcome dinner together & briefing on your trip.

Day 2 : Fly to Pokhara. Trek to Durbang (1100m)

Today, you will fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, an early morning flight is exciting. On reaching Pokhara you will have 4-hour drive through a fascinating lush landscape of emerald green rice paddies and dense forest to reach Darbang. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 3 : Trek to Sibang (1770m) [5-6 hrs]

Today you will trek for Dharapani, the uphill climb will take you to ridge top village of Dharapani. Witness the picturesque view of Dhaulagiri from here & also take a peek at Stunning Gurja Himal and Puta Hiunchuli to the west. After having lunch at Dharapani, you will continue the trek along the trail & later you will stay in tented camp at Sibang.

Day 4 : Descend to Gatti Khola River & climb to Muri and Naura [7-8 hrs]

Today, you will descend down to Ghatti Khola, later climb uphill for 2 hours to reach Muri village. Continuing the trail, you will trek for Naura. On crossing several farmlands, terraced rice fields and isolated houses, on the east side of the Dhola Valley, you will ned up to the village of Naura northwards to the village. You will be staying in tented camp overnight

Day 5 : Trek to Lapche Kharka (2100m) [7 hrs]

Following the myagdi Khola river, you will stop for lunch at the Village of Baghara. For here, you will descend down to reach jyardan. Later you will arrive at marpha in the Kali Gandaki valley. Beyond marpha, a slight descend to steep paths will take you to the river. Following the river is an uphill climb to forest bypassing several stone-built shepherds, you will end up in Lapche kharka- a grazing area.

Day 6 : Gradual ascent to Sallaghari (2500m/8 hrs) via Dobang

Today you will trek for sallaghari. This trek is full of grassy plains & Dobang is one of the grassy plains too. You will have lunch here & continue along the trail. After following the forested area & hiking along myagdi Khola, you will reach Sallaghari- a summer grazing area. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 7 : Short day hike to Italian Basecamp (3660m) [4 hrs]

Today you will trek beneath the west side of Dhaulagiri. Later you will trek to Italian base camp.

Day 8 : Trek to Japanese Camp (4200m) [4 hrs]

Today you will chase Japanese camp. Climbing above for 4000m, the trail is rocky & steep. On crossing the moraine, you will reach a wide grassy area which is Japanese campsite. This is a spectacular place with promising views of west Dhaulagiri. At the altitude of 4200m its good idea to acclimatize at least for a day. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 9 : Acclimatisation day

It's always a wise decision to acclimatize if you are trekking above 4000m so today is an extra day for you to save your energy & acclimatize.

Day 10 : Long trek to Dhaualgiri Basecamp (4748m) [8 hrs]

This day is a tiring day as you will be trekking up to Dhaulagiri base camp. You will follow the north side of the glacier through lateral moraines & glacier along the way. On reaching Dhaulagiri, take a time to see the 360 views of massif Dhaulagiri. All 3 summits of Dhaulagiri can bee seen from here. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 11 : Acclimatisation day before crossing into the Hidden Valley

This is another extra day for acclimatization. Juice up with some energy drinks & rest for a day.

Day 12 : Cross French Pass (5370m/8 hours), Descend into the Hidden Valley

Today, you will chase French Pass. French Pass is a stunning vantage point with 360 panoramas of surrounding mountain peaks. Lying on the north side of chhondarban glacier french pass is the famous pass in this entire trip. Witness Mukut Himal, Tashi Kang, Tukuche Peak, and Dhaulagiri itself from here. Later you will descend to camp. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 13 : A contingency day in case of any delays

Today is an extra day so Explore the hidden valley & juice up for your next day trek

Day 14 : Cross Dhampus Pass (5280m) and descend into the Kali Gandaki Valley [7-8 hrs]

Today you will be crossing Dhampus pass at an elevation of 5280m. It's a tough path but with slow gradual steps & right amount of effort, its achievable. Dhampus pass is in the eastern end of French pass & its lower elevation too which is good. Ultimately, you will end up in Yak kharka after dropping further below. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 15 : Descend via the Tibetan village of Marpha to Jomsom

Today you will further descend own, the zig-zag path will eventually take you to the village of marpha-a village of whitewashed houses. This village is beautiful with paved streets & good lodges to stay & eat. This village is also a Tibetan refugee settlement centre. Since its officially the last day of the trek, you will enjoy & celebrate the completion of the trek.

Day 16 : Fly to Pokhara

You will be flying back to Pokhara on this day. You will have enough time to enjoy & stroll around the city of Pokhara. Wander around the lakeside & relax.

Day 17 : Fly to Kathmandu & Farewell Dinner

You will fly back to Kathmandu. A half an hour Himalayan flight could be relaxing after a tiring long journey. Have souvenir shopping around the streets of Thamel & later We will have a farewell dinner to celebrate your trip success.

Day 18 : Departure day

We will escort you to the Airport according to your schedule.
