Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple is a Hindu shrine in Dolakha District of Nepal which lies in the north-east region of Nepal. Kalinchowk hill is named after the hill top shrine dedicated to Kali (a Hindu Goddess) known as Kalinchowk Bhagwati It is situated Dolkha at the altitude of 3842m from sea-level. It is a part of Gaurishankar Conservation Area from where two rivers Sun Kosi and Tama Kosi originate.
To go up to Kalinchowk hill, you will need to get to Charikot which is situated at about 150 kilometers from Kathmandu.. You can take a local bus or rent a vehicle to get there. You can also Hike up to Kalinchowk from Charikot which is the headquarter of Dolakha District. The hike would sum up to about 7 hours from Charikot or you can directly drive to Kalinchwok from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal
At the top of the hill you can visit the shrine of Kalinchowk Bagwati which is surrounded by metal tridents and bells and the snowy spires of Gaurishankar and other Himalayan peaks rearing majestically in the background. Standing at the top and savoring the heavenly views, you may forget the tiredness of your journey which is totally worth the spectacular vista. There are lots of good skiing slopes in the Kuri village and Tutan and the best season for it would be during the winters that falls between December to March.
